I'm Giving Stuff Away - Read On Loyal Subscriber...

When I was growing up (starting at age 9), I used to spend all my money on records and I mean ALL of it; that's how into music I was. I belonged to all the record clubs (you remember those - 10 albums for 99 cents if you buy ten more over the course of a year) and I spent countless hours digging through delete bins in record stores all over the world, looking for deals. When I was in university, I would buy albums rather than food and I'm not kidding.

Summer has been as loopy as I can remember in my many years in this town. However - optimistically - I'd like to point out that summer, as a season, does not end at the end of August but rather on the 21st of September. I know it's tough not to succumb psychologically on, or about, the Labour Day weekend, to the idea that our lazy, hazy days are behind us but let's keep it going for a few more weeks! It looks like the weather is going to be lovely for the foreseeable future, the patios will still beckon, I say we hang on, hahaha...

Are You a Classic Rocker/Music Fan/Dinosaur or Are You Willing To Move On? Is There a Choice?

As the subject line suggests, there are people who are, shall we say, stuck in the past and there are others who will boldly go where their peers will not... For what it's worth, I've been buying records/music with pretty much all of my "disposable" income for as long as I can remember. In fact, that was so long ago that most of my Beatles vinyl was in mono (that's ONE CHANNEL audio for the unitiated) because it was cheaper than buying records in the new "stereo" format, but I digress...
