I'm going to start this newsletter by saying that - as predicted, and promised - the Willie Nile and Jeff Lang shows were absolutely fantastic. Both artists were making their first trips to Halifax and both will be back if they get a chance... You blew it, big time, if you were in town and decided against coming!

Oh, if you're wondering, yes I went to KISS. Wille Nile blew them away...

End of gentle chiding and on with the next shows on the calendar...

I drove by the Halifax Common earlier this afternoon and could not see the KISS stage because the fog was too thick. Got home to my driveway and had to sit in the car for 5 minutes to wait until the cloudburst subsided enough for me to make the 10 foot dash to the front door without drowning. Once safely inside the door I started thinking about what today's concert experience was going to be like for the tens of thousands expected at that big outdoor show...

Happy "Sun" Day!

Well, two consecutive sunny days and now it looks like we're back to the usual. Don't get me wrong, I was out of my feeble, vitamin D deprived mind that the powers-that-be favoured us with decent weekend weather for the McCartney show but it would be nice if it would just stay that way for, I dunno, THE REST OF THE SUMMER!

I made this announcement quite a while ago and - because I know I forget things (I'm busy, like you probably) - I'm taking this opportunity to remind everyone that this show is only a couple of weeks away! I guarantee it will be one of those shows we all talk about for years to come, and that's saying something folks... Oh, by the way, this isn't some tour stop. We're flying Willie in from New York specifically for this show!

Firstly, happy Canada Day!!! As one - usually - proud Canadian to another, I hope you have an excellent day celebrating in whatever fashion you choose!
