Submitted by mike_campbell on Thu, 12/11/2008 - 18:26.
Well, apparently, when I shipped the last newsletter, our lovely graphics weren't part of it and that's just not right. So, for your viewing pleasure, here's our lovely New Year's Eve invitation. Tickets can be had in the usual fashion by calling The Carleton with credit card in hand at 902-422-6335. It's going to be a sensational time. Hope to see you there!

We've got a New Year's Eve party to throw! Apparently, the last newsletter did not include the lovely invitation we've designed for our inaugural bash. So, here's hoping it works out this time. Kinda makes you want to go, doesn't it?

Never Mind Santa - Julie Doiron's Coming To Town!
Submitted by mike_campbell on Tue, 12/09/2008 - 13:09.Good Day Subscriber,
It's not often that Julie Doiron comes to this part of the world anymore, even though she's originally from Moncton, so we're very much looking forward to her upcoming shows at The Carleton (Sunday, December 14th and Monday, December 15th). Julie is truly one of the country's coolest songsmiths. For those of you who aren't quite sure who she is, here's the Wikipedia version of her life's artistic story:
New Year's Eve at The Carleton
Submitted by mike_campbell on Mon, 12/08/2008 - 00:23.Hello Subscriber,
You've been getting a lot of newsletter information from us recently. We don't mean to bug you but there is a lot of Carleton news lately and we want to keep you in the loop. This particular loop will answer the question we hear most often these days, "what are you planning on doing for New Year's Eve?"

Miracle on Argyle St.
Submitted by mike_campbell on Thu, 12/04/2008 - 13:41.Seasons Greetings, Friends of The Carleton,
Notorious grinches, Mike and Mike have been convinced by lovers of The Carleton to indulge the team and let them go nuts for The Carleton’s first holiday season. Permissions were granted, and the instructions from Mike and Mike? Create a refuge for weary shoppers, a slightly festive place for the office lunchers nursing hangovers. Make sure we have gossip opportunities for the Christmas office party crowd. Don’t forget welcome opportunities for the caroling avoiders.
Duane Andrews show news... and more...
Submitted by mike_campbell on Tue, 12/02/2008 - 14:58.I've just heard from Duane Andrews that he'll be joined for his Carleton show on December 7th by respected Cape Breton fiddler, Dwayne Cote! This is very good news for music fans - two guys named Duane/Dwayne for the price of one - fantastic.
Jimmy Rankin tomorrow and Wednesday
Submitted by mike_campbell on Mon, 11/24/2008 - 12:03.Hello Subscriber,
Consider this my friendly reminder about shows that you do not want to miss. Mostly, this is to save me dealing with the usual glut of calls begging for tickets well after a show has sold out and this week's Jimmy Rankin shows are pretty much in that category already...
Stan Carew, Who Knew?
Submitted by mike_campbell on Tue, 11/18/2008 - 03:11.Stan Carew played The Carleton last night and, while I know him as an excellent radio personality, I didn't really know how good a musician and songwriter he is! He and his band, The Magpies, put on a killer show that showed off Stan's writing abilities and his great voice. I highly recommend this show.
He's playing again tonight (Tuesday, November 18th) so you've still got a chance to make it. Admission is $20 and that ticket comes with a copy of Stan's brand-spanking-new CD, Circle The Wagons. So your money goes a long way with this show!
Damhnait Doyle coming up fast!!!!
Submitted by mike_campbell on Fri, 10/31/2008 - 11:04.Hello Subscriber,
The fabulous Damhnait Doyle's shows at the Carleton are rapidly approaching! Dav hasn't played Halifax in eons and we're very much looking forward to seeing this artist in the cosy confines of the Carleton, rather than in a plush seat at the Rebecca Cohn. Not that there's anything wrong with Rebecca's room, but you can't get a great meal or drinks served to you in your seat there...
