Our Classic Album series continues with Sam Nijar & pals taking on the Jimi Hendrix Experience‘s Are You Experienced? on Friday, July 8th. They’ll be ably supported by Talea (Funk/R&B/Soul/Blues -emphasis on dancing). Show time is 10 PM and it’s only $8 at the door to get in on the fun.

If you’re not familiar with the Classic Album series, we’ve been challenging local bands – not ones that are actual “tribute” bands – to cover albums that have influenced them from start to finish. For example, Joel Plaskett became Billy Joel Plaskett to perform Billy Joel’s Glass Houses. Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound took on Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black, etc.

It’s a fun night out, especially if you dig the album being featured. It’s not often you find a bunch of folks willing to try Hendrix on for size so come out to see how they do!
