When the news of Tom Petty‘s untimely death was announced, we at The Carleton (like everyone else) were shocked and deeply saddened. An artist like Petty comes along once in a lifetime and his life ended far too soon. The only thing we can do is celebrate the music he left us and to that end, we’re proud to present a night of his incomparable songs – It’s Good To Be King – anchored by our friends in Petty Larceny on Thursday, November 9th. Show time is 9 PM and because the previous Petty night was lined up around the block and many folks coudn’t get in, this time we’ll sell advanced tickets at $10 so you can be sure of entry!

As great as listening to Tom’s recorded music is, there’s really no substitute for hearing it played live, by a band that knows what it’s doing; that has great respect for the material. The Petty Larceny lads, along with some special guests, will be doing that for us on this night and we hope you can join us. We know Tom would have appreciated it, we sure do…
