Well, here’s a blues-rockers dream night! The Negligents with Garrett Mason and Noah Tye take over The Carleton stage on Friday, May 27th. Show time will be 10 PM and admission is a measly $10 cash at the door. Hold on to your hats ladies and gentlemen!

Negligents

The Negligents are a guitar-driven melting pot of Blues, Soul and Rock ‘n’ Roll formed by some of Halifax’s most in-demand side musicians. They are Brad Conrad (Matt Mays, Johnny Favourite Swing Orchestra, The Mellotones), Ben Ross (Thrush Hermit, Heavy Meadows), Mike Farrington (Garrett Mason, Matt Andersen, The Mellotones) and from Nashville, Clint Newcomb (Billy Currington).

Playing a mix of originals and covers, they’re a band not to be missed live.

Garrett-Mason 3

Garrett Mason has followed in his father’s footsteps, at least where talent is concerned. Not so much a follower of the blues “lifestyle,” Garrett is a vibrant and talented guitar player with the makings of a long career ahead of him. His 2005 Juno nod was seen as perhaps a little premature considering Downchild, Jim Byrnes and Rita Chiarelli were in the running as well. Garrett has since proven himself more than worthy of the accolade.

NoahTye

Noah Tye is an up-and-coming multi-instrumentalist/songwriter currently promoting his debut album, The Devlin Ewe, which has to be one of our favourite titles ever. It’s also worth noting that Noah is definitely one of the snappiest dressers in town.
