Rudy & The Pacè Family Orchestra with Quiet Parade and Willow Street Station gang up for a show at The Carleton on Thursday, September 27th. Show time is 9 PM and admission is $7 at the door.

Rudy & the Pacè Family Orchestra are the East Coast’s latest urban folk band to hit the scene in 2018. Eager to produce great music, live performances and all around great content, this band is dedicated to the East Coasts music community and its home town of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Rudy & the Pacè Family Orchestra is made up of members Christiana Armstrong (keys), Will Robbins (guitar), Ivan Annandale (bass), Jesse MacLeod (drums) and Rudy Pacè (vocals/guitar). All members are familiar with the local scene, playing in separate bands before this including Social Smokers Club, norc, exiled to Sea and Electric Spoonful.

The band’s name the Pacè Family Orchestra is a tribute to front man Rudy Pacè’s great grandfather Emilio, who migrated from Italy to Canada in the 1920s and became a well known act in the Maritimes as Emilio Pace and his Family Orchestra.

Focused and fearless, Quiet Parade presents introspective, bleeding-heart folk-rock shrouded in a little fog. Building on a foundation of nostalgia and longing, the Halifax-based band revels in winding guitar lines, fading choruses, and words that go straight for the heart. Quiet Parade’s breakout single, “We Were Here,” was featured heavily on CBC Radio 2, claiming a spot on their Top 20 charts for five weeks. In addition to a 2017 East Coast Music Award nomination for Folk Recording of the Year, their self-titled album earned Quiet Parade a Music Nova Scotia Award in 2016 for Alternative Album of the Year.

This winter, the band unveiled their French-language debut – an EP titled Nous Étions Icitte. Featuring four translated songs that originally appeared (in English) on the band’s award-winning self-titled album, the record was released in February 2018 via Acadian Embassy.

Immersive, introspective and bold — Willow St. Station weaves together intricate vocal hooks and harmonies with beautiful instrumentals; cherry-topped with honest lyrics that breathe. These sonic elements come together along with a hypnotic and powerful stage show to create an experience that brings the listener through a journey that starts at the heart and ends at the soul.
