Steve Poltz and The Carleton go together like peanut butter and jam; like soup and sandwich; like hand and glove; or – to be precise – like perfect performer and perfect audience. It’s a match made in the heaven we all hope exists. So we’re stoked that Steve is returning for TWO shows: a special early show (7 PM) on Saturday, June 20th and an 8 PM show on Sunday, June 21st.

Steve holds the record for performances at our place. We’re about to turn 7 years old in May and Steve (who’s from Halifax originally but lives in San Diego) has been on our stage so many times we’ve actually forgotten the number of shows he’s done with us (we know it’s over 30).

How is that possible? Well, for one thing, folks who’ve been to see him come over and over again because he never does the same show twice AND his performances are life-changing. Steve has a catalogue of songs that runs to the hundreds and some of them, like You Were Meant For Me (with Jewel), I Love Everything About You (Notting Hill sound track) and You Remind Me (awesome Jeep commercial from a few years back) are practically part of our collective DNA now.

If you have never seen Steve perform before, isn’t it about time you did!?! If you have, don’t you think you should haul a couple of newbies out to see him when you come again? I am on record as saying that Steve is the single best solo performer I’ve ever seen in my life and I stand by that statement.

In fact, if you buy a ticket and come to the show and don’t think it was worth your money, I’ll give you your money back out of my own pocket. I will probably never talk to you again but I’ll honour that promise.
