Acadian Embassy présente une soirée intime avec Caroline Savoie – avec Serena Wu – autrice-compositrice-interprète qui captive avec une sincérité émotive les facettes de l’amour authentique au Carleton le jeudi 30 avril à 19h30. Offrant un spectacle en duo, elle interprète des chansons de son 4e album, Rom-Com, inspiré des comédies romantiques classiques qui ont marqué son adolescence et sa vingtaine. À la fois grande romantique et indiscutablement comique, Caroline Savoie nous guide dans ses récits d’amour triomphant, mais aussi en explorant les intrications des relations plus douloureuses. Être soi-même, assumer qui nous sommes et faire ses propres choix, c’est le chemin de toute une vie et la jeune acadienne sait autant naviguer les eaux calmes que les pires tempêtes. Caroline Savoie, artiste accomplie de la scène francophone, signe son quatrième album Rom-Com, où elle assume pour la première fois son rôle de réalisatrice avec une grande liberté. Après une décennie de succès sur scène et des albums réalisés aux côtés de Jay Newland (Norah Jones), Philippe Brault (Pierre Lapointe, Ingrid St-Pierre) et Joe Grass (Patrick Watson, Elisapie), elle explore cette fois-ci un univers inspiré par les comédies romantiques préférées de son adolescence. Caroline Savoie, an accomplished and celebrated artist in the Francophone music scene, releases her fourth album, Rom-Com, where she takes on the role of producer for the first time with considerable freedom. After a decade of stage success and albums produced alongside Jay Newland (Norah Jones), Philippe Brault (Pierre Lapointe, Ingrid St-Pierre), and Joe Grass (Patrick Watson, Elisapie), she explores a world inspired by her favorite romantic comedies of adolescence. Both a hopeless romantic and undeniably funny, Caroline Savoie guides us through an album structured like a soundtrack, telling stories of triumphant love while also exploring the complexities of more painful relationships. With a stage career spanning hundreds of shows across the United States, Europe, and her Acadian roots in Atlantic Canada, Caroline Savoie leaves an indelible mark with her nuanced voice and profound lyrics that resonate long after the performance.

Serena Wu est une auteure-compositrice-interprète bilingue originaire de Halifax, en Nouvelle-Écosse, et fait partie du label Acadian Embassy. Réalisé, enregistré et mixé par le collaborateur primé Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, The Once, Quiet Parade), son premier single en français, « Étranger », est un extrait pop qui explore la confusion qui règne lorsque l’on tombe amoureux de quelqu’un tout en se demandant qui il est vraiment. Démarrant avec un ukulélé staccato, la chanson s’ouvre rapidement sur une panoplie d’instruments inspirés du soul et du funk qui propulsent le morceau tout au long. Une ligne de basse enjouée, des riffs de guitare chatoyants et une section de cuivres énergique fournissent un cadre ample et excitant à la voix dynamique et aux harmonies texturées de la jeune chanteuse.

Her latest single, Détruit / Hate U Now, a bilingual double release, is available on all streaming platforms. Produced, recorded, and mixed by award-winning collaborator Daniel Ledwell (known for his work with Jenn Grant, The Once, and Quiet Parade), the track is an energetic pop anthem that captures the heartbreak and guilt of ending a relationship on bad terms due to circumstances beyond control—like moving away or career changes—while struggling with the realization that someone who once meant everything now feels like a stranger.
