Cape Breton comes to The Carleton for a rockin’ night on Friday, December 4th, featuring The Jordan Musycsyn Band, along with Carmen Townsend and Slowcoaster’s Mike LeLievre. Show time is 10 PM and it’ll be $10 at the door to get in on the festivities.
There are a lot of impressive musicians in Cape Breton, as we all know, but Jordan Musycsyn is one of the very best of the new breed. We’re really looking forward to the full band experience. Check out the video below to get an idea of what they’re all about.
If Carmen Townsend isn’t quite considered a national treasure yet, she’s sure as hell a provincial one. The multiple Music Nova Scotia and East Coast Music awards winner, she continues to be one of the most striking artists ever to come out of this region. She’s also the subject of one of our favourite press quotes ever: “If rock’n’roll was walking down the street, it would be wearing a Carmen Townsend t-shirt.” Matt Andersen. ‘Nuff said.
Mike LeLievre might be best known as bassist for Slowcoaster (and member of Jordan’s band) but he writes and performs his own material too, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering he plays a whack of instruments and has been doing it since he was 13…
