Pat LePoidevin – celebrating the release of his latest album, Captain Myles & The SPR – with able assistance from Corey Isenor and Brianna Gosse (freshly arrived from Newfoundland), team up for a show at The Carleton on Friday, October 5th. Show time is 10 PM and admission is $10 at the door.

Pat LePoidevin is a songwriter and performer strongly influenced by community. With an extensive songwriting resume and five albums to his name, LePoidevin has built a sizable fan base on relentless touring and standout performances at some of Canada’s most prestigious music festivals, including Halifax Pop Explosion and Dawson City Music Festival.

LePoidevin’s fifth record, Captain Myles & The SPR, is a concept album that follows Captain Myles and his friend Lucy, two teenagers who build a working spaceship out of junkyard scraps. Though the story of the album was motivated by the imaginations of his students, the lyrics and powerful vocals ground the record in universal experiences. Part coming-of-age, part science fiction, LePoidevin’s Captain Myles is a unique storytelling experience underpinned by his compelling vocals and uplifting guitar work.

Originally from Enfield, Nova Scotia, Corey Isenor now lives in Halifax. He began songwriting and performing in earnest while in university, living amongst marsh folk and swans in Sackville, NB. Since then he has recorded and released 5 full-length albums, the most recent being ‘A Painted Portrait (Of The Classic Ruse)‘, recorded at The Old Confidence Lodge in Riverport, NS and released Sept. 2016.

Corey has toured multiple times throughout Eastern & Maritime Canada and played shows with the likes of Old Cabin, Dan Mangan, The Good Lovlies, Aidan Knight, Dale Murray & Christina Martin, Paper Beat Scissors, Al Tuck, Shotgun Jimmie, and more.

Corey has performed at Sappyfest Music Festival (Sackville, NB), In The Dead of Winter Festival (Halifax, NS ) and Full Circle Festival (Newport Landing, NS).

Since the release of her standout debut recording, AERA, Newfoundland songwriter Brianna Gosse has been gaining recognition for her charm, clever lyrics and addictively beautiful voice that one could listen to all day…every day…

Brianna has been steadily gaining fans across Canada and as far as Kansas City with opening performances with the Once, Matt Andersen, Ron Sexsmith, Hawksley Workman and Amelia Curran, to name a few. In addition to film and television placements, AERA has been graced with several awards and nominations from organizations such as MusicNL and ECMA and continues to showcase at industry events regularly.
