We are super-stoked to be able to say that the fabulous Ian Janes Band will be taking up the Absolut Thursday residency at The Carleton Music Bar & Grill. I've said it before and I'm saying it again now, Ian is one of the best Soul/R&B singers in the country (if not THE best). As an added bonus, he's a great songwriter and an excellent guitarist. His trio also features Tom Roach on drums and Tom Easley on bass

National treasure Laura Smith returns to The Carleton stage a year, to the day, from her brilliant debut show last year. Laura is a breathtaking performer and will be accompanied by guitarist George Antoniak, along with some very special guests. The show takes place on Sunday, February 26th at 9 PM. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show (including taxes). Last year's show sold out well in advance so I suggest you pick up your tickets earlier, rather than later...

It's February - the coldest month of the year in Nova Scotia - and there's not a lot we can do about that! However, to at least warm up the Mondays of the month, we're doing a cool little thing called A Month of Video Mondays at The Carleton.

This entails having 4 bands play on each Monday of the month. We'll be multi-track recording each act and shooting its set with 5 HD cameras. Each participating band will get one song mixed and edited to use any way they like. The band that draws the most fans will get its whole set mixed and edited.

This week's bands are The Molly Thomason Band, Junior's Highway Project, Soho Ghetto & The Stogies. The show starts at 10 PM and should wrap up before 1:00 AM. It's only 5 bucks so it won't break the bank. Try it, I expect you'll like it!

Internationally acclaimed blues guitarist Ray Bonneville returns to Halifax with a show at The Carleton on Tuesday, February 28th. Currently touring around the planet, Ray will hit the stage at 9 PM. Tickets are only $20.

February 29th is a rare date indeed and a Mike O'Neill album release is damn near as rare, so we thought it would be an appropriate night to put on this very special show! Show time will be 9 PM and tickets are only $15. Mike will be playing some tunes solo and the rest with a full band.
