Carleton audiences may remember Ariana Nasr & Curtis Thorpe, from their popular Édith Piaf-themed Valentine’s Day performances. On Sunday, February 15th, the duo returns to The Carleton with their signature show: an eclectic mix of French chanson, jazz, and world music, featuring Ariana’s riveting vocals and soprano saxophone and Curtis’ one-man-band of guitar, harmonicas, and percussion. Expect to hear favourites from Édith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Dave Brubeck, Nina Simone, as well as classics from around the world.Show time is 7 PM and tickets are $30+ HST.

Both hailing from the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, Ariana Nasr and Curtis Thorpe have been performing together since 2016 when Curtis joined Ariana’s Édith Piaf tribute show and they discovered their artistic synergy. In their collaboration, Ariana’s exuberant vocal and instrumental performances in multiple languages and styles combine with Curtis’ unique, meticulously refined musical expression to create a richly textured and delightfully unexpected live performance. Based in Montréal since 2017, the duo has brought their music to a wide variety of venues, earning a reputation for dynamic performances infused with passion, humor, and spontaneity.
