The Carleton is turning 8 on (or around) Friday, May 13th, so to celebrate, we’re kicking it old school with a few bands featuring the best of the best from Halifax’s heyday:  Dave Marsh & The True Love Rules, Rolly & The Navy Brats and The Stratejackets, as well as The Del Boca Vistas and special guest Mo Kenney. Show time is 10 PM and it’s only $5 at the door to get in on the action. Live music at its best!

The True Love Rules is Dave Marsh, Joel Plaskett’s long-time drummer and collaborator, and a bunch of friends. Dave is one of Joel’s favourite songwriters. He’s quietly making some of the best albums you’re ever going to hear. He doesn’t play live that often so here’s your chance…

The Brats are fronted by ex-King Konqueror main man, Steve Rolston and play full-tilt rock and roll songs. They’ll leave you hot and sweaty in the best possible way.
