Taryn’s one to keep an eye on in this town. We sense really great things coming from her ’cause we think she’s got that je ne sais quoi, you know?
You could call it Soul Inspired Rock. Lis “Alaska” McMillan is a young musician in an old city and she is the vocalist and songwriter for the Halifax band The State of Alaska. In 2011, Alaska stepped onto Halifax stages as a solo artist, playing primarily house shows and basement concerts. The State of Alaska was formed in 2012 with the support of some good friends, and they have been creating together ever since. Oh, and they’re really good…
