If you dig your music on the heavier side, we’ve got you covered as Kilmore + Brass Antlers + Safeword team up to provide some oomph for your ears at The Carleton on Friday, March 31st. Safeword kicks things off after 8 PM and tickets for this triple-band attack are only $10 + HST.

Kilmore was founded by Heather Harris (vocals) and Dan Doran (guitars), two siblings of Irish descent who moved to Canada when they were still young. They moved to Halifax in the ’90s, growing up on a musical diet of Grunge, an influence that still permeates their current sound. The band formed in 2013, adding Neill Spence (bass) and Lor Sangster (drrums) to the original line-up. Jon MacIsaac later replaced Lor on drums, completing the current line-up.

Brass Antlers is a self-described “Four piece grunge band from Halifax, playing original sludgy tones, reminiscent of the early 90’s, west coast / LA scene.

Safeword is four friends from Dartmouth and Halifax, NS who bring honest, often danceable indie pop-rock to your ears. The band calls itself basement music therapy because – formed just prior to the pandemic – Safeword’s basement rehearsals and songwriting sessions got its members through two years of pandemic and loss.
