After quickly selling out his Halifax Urban Folk Festival show in early September, Ben Caplan has added a third show at The Carleton – a special all-ages matinée – on Sunday, Oct. 25th! Show time is 1 PM and tickets are available through Eventbrite HERE.

Ben Caplan is a songwriter, singer, and performer based in Halifax, NS. He has been touring heavily since 2011 and has played over 1600 concerts in 28 countries since that time. His most recent project was the theatrical production, Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story, co-created with Christian Barry and Hannah Moscovitch and produced by Halifax’s 2b Theatre Company. The music from that project is captured on Caplan’s third studio album, Old Stock. The project was awarded the 2018 Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award. The songwriting on that project also earned Caplan the 2019 East Coast Music Award for songwriter of the year along with other awards and accolades.

Ben is currently getting back to his roots by playing solo shows around the Maritimes. He is also working on a new solo album. When he is not touring, recording, writing, or doing administrative work related to touring, recording, and writing, Ben enjoys eating, drinking, sleeping, and reading books.
