More than 20 years ago, six dynamic solo performers came together for a late-night session during Celtic Colours. That session was the spark that lit Beòlach. During the next decade, Beòlach continued to grow artistically through their innovative and exciting arrangements of traditional Cape Breton, Scottish and Irish tunes for fiddle, bagpipes, piano and guitar. Their knowledge of, and passion for, this traditional music shows in their energy onstage, and the natural, easy wit and banter they exchange reflects lifelong friendships, a shared sense of fun, and years of experience as professional musicians.
Beòlach has entertained audiences throughout the world with their original compositions and unique arrangements of traditional tunes, and their three albums have won East Coast Music Awards, Canadian Folk Music Awards, and were nominated for a JUNO award in 2021.
This year alone, they took home 2 Canadian Folk Music Awards for Group Recording and Roots/Traditional album of the year and Fan’s Choice Entertainer’s of the year and the ECMAs and they are up for 3 more awards at this years Nova Scotia Music Week in November. Roots/Traditional, Group Recording of the year and Entertainer’s of the year!
In October Beòlach will be one of three groups representing Canada at the World Expo in Dubai!
