Glory Glory + Ivory Hours + Lindsay Misiner & The 7th Mystic

There’s nothing we like more than three great bands on one bill and that’s exactly what we’ve got with Glory Glory, Ivory Hours and Lindsay Misiner & The 7th Mystic at The Carleton on Thursday, April 7th. Show time is 9 PM and it’s only $10 cash at the door.

Rooted in pop, awash in layers of sound, Glory Glory is ready to make you sweat. Initially a celebration of FX pedals and post-punk odd-meter bombast, the band has grown into a brainy, psychedelic dance party. New single Where The People Are fits somewhere on your playlist between Tame Impala and Caribou and finds the four-piece in recovery from jazz-school self-loathing, exploring catharsis through the indie-rock palette. That’s all just a way of saying the band can play and you’ll like them!

Ivory Hours is a sassy alt-pop trio from London, Ontario. The band was formed by Luke Roes (Vocals/Guitar) in 2012 and features Chris Levesque (Bass) and Thomas Perquin (Drums).

It’s been a big year for Ivory Hours. Amidst constant touring, the London, Ontario natives hit the studio to record their debut full-length album Morning Light – a collection of infectious pop tunes co-produced by Dan Brodbeck (The Cranberries, Dolores O’Riordan) and mastered by Joao Carvalho (Lights, Stars).

After releasing the album on June 9th 2015 the band went on to win 102.1 The Edge’s ‘Next Big Thing’, garnering their first commercial airplay for the single Warpaint. Within weeks they announced their grand prize win of the Canada’s Walk of Fame Emerging Artist Mentorship Program. Shortly after the band announced a national tour for spring 2016.

With ‘Warpaint’ spreading on radio and online with the help of a clever stop-motion video, a new album and acoustic release in the works, a MuchFACT funded video for ‘Dreamer’ just released and a hometown brimming with support, it’s safe to say Ivory Hours is riding an upward spiral.

Lindsay Misiner & The 7th Mystic is an 8 piece, Halifax-based, Psychedelic Soul band featuring singer/songwriter Lindsay Misiner’s powerhouse vocals. Her band features an eclectic group of talented musicians, hand-picked for their great devotion to a solid, mind gripping, sound and together their music will move up your spine and open your mind – as the name suggests! Feel it!
