The AfterWords Literary Festival presents an afternoon of readings at The Carleton with bar service and light snacks. Madhur Anand (To Place a Rabbit), David Huebert (Oil People), Danica Roache (Five Seasons of Charlie Francis), and Elamin Abdelmahmoud (Son of Elsewhere) read from their recent works on Saturday, November 8th at 1:00 PM (doors at 12:30 PM). Madhur Anand is an award-winning poet and writer. To Place a Rabbit is her first novel.
David Huebert is the author of Peninsula Sinking, Chemical Valley, and the debut novel Oil People, which was a finalist for the Amazon Canada First Novel Award and won the Thomas Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award.
A member of Glooscap First Nation, Danica Roache is a mixed-ancestry writer living in Punamu’kwati’jk (Dartmouth) with her partner, four kids, two cats, and a dog. Five Seasons of Charlie Francis is her first novel.
Elamin Abdelmahmoud is the author of Son of Elsewhere: A Memoir in Pieces, and host of CBC’s Commotion.
