Before heading back out on the road with his band, the inimitable Ben Caplan – along with special guests Moira & Claire – will do two rare intimate solo shows at The Carleton on Friday, March 13th (this one) and Saturday, March 14th. Show time each night is 8 PM and tickets are $50 + HST.

Halifax’s Ben Caplan is a singer, songwriter, and live performer known for his unmistakable baritone voice and emotionally immersive concerts. Blending folk, blues, gospel, and Eastern European influences, his music often feels less like a performance and more like a shared ritual—songs shaped by breath, silence, poetry, and raw emotion.

Since releasing his latest album, The Flood, he has been busy with national and international touring with the band including sold out shows with Symphony Nova Scotia and headlining the Light House Arts Centre. Born on one side of Canada and now living on another, Antigonish, Nova Scotia’s Moira & Claire write lighthearted, indie folk-pop songs that appeal to East and West Coasters and everyone in between. The sisters have been singing together for longer than their professional careers, their voices harmonizing in the kind of familial magic that only living together your entire life can attain.
