Hobo Aquarium return to The Carleton to celebrate the release of their album, Boy Girl Man – along with opener, Chris Henshaw – on Saturday, June 28th. Live music gets underway at 8 PM and tickets are only $15 + HST.
Alt-Rock power trio Hobo Aquarium pass between genres like a hot knife through butter. Their energetic live show and distinct aesthetic extend from their lyricism to their onstage antics. Unfortunately Hobo drummer “Boy” was recently abducted by a Gonzo-masked assailant. Fortunately Boy’s Romanian cousin “Jug” has been covering in his absence. It is the hope of the band that we will see the return of Boy in time for their album release.
Chris Henshaw creates guitar-based folk songs, played with conviction and sung with sensitivity. The songs are a documentation of his life as a young person trying to find his place in the world. When Chris performs, there is always a sense that Chris is baring his soul to the listener.
