Last fall’s successful, and highly entertaining, Story Night has now morphed into Shaggy Dog: Stories At The Carleton, and this new iteration is set to go with 8-10 new storytellers at The Carleton on Thursday, March 19th. Our speakers will begin spinning true yarns at 7:30 PM and tickets – with all proceeds going to the AfterWords Literary Festival – are only $12.50 + HST.

in November we held our first Story Tellers’ night at the joint. Just a bunch of regular folks, on stage, telling cool, and often very funny tales ripped from the headlines of their real lives. It was a great success and a super-fun night out. So…

We now have a name for it –  Shaggy Dog – and we’re on the hunt for people with entertaining stories who can deliver them without notes for 7ish to 12ish minutes. The organizers are Devon Perlmutter (emcee) – devon.a.perlmutter@gmail.com – and Erin Karygin – erinkanygin@gmail.com – and they would love to hear from you, or someone you know that might need a little push, if you/they’d like to be involved.

The first step in getting more permanently organized was the creation of a Facebook page, which Erin has put together. Please check that out HERE. Once there, make sure to follow and share, so we can start getting traction on what we know is going to be a regular event. Even better, let Devon and Erin know you’ve got a story to tell that you’d love to share from our stage.

Ticket proceeds will go to the AfterWords Literary Festival and admission will still be cheap. If you’re too timid to actually get up and do it, you can still participate as a member of the audience.
