Stylish Montreal indie-pop darlings Ivytide make their way east to play The Carleton for the first time, along with Jenny & The Tide, the new, long-awaited, project from Jennifer Pierce of jale fame. This very special, perfectly matched (they both have “tide ” in their names!), combination will begin at 8 PM on Friday, May 1st. Tickets are a mere $20 +HST.

Ivytide is an indie pop band from Montreal. Founding members, Nathan Gagné (vocals, guitar), Jamie Snytte (guitar) and Kyle Ruggiero (bass) met at a recording studio, where they started to develop a chemistry in their songwriting. A mutual love for lo-fi indie music led to the production of bedroom pop songs with intricate, but catchy melodies, which float on top of well thought-out instrumentation.
Jenny & the Tide is the current project of Canadian songwriter Jenny Lynn Pierce (jale).
The six-song EP Unsuitable (2024) was created in collaboration with guitarist and producer Charles Austin (Surprise Pink, The Super Friendz), Dave Pierce (Teen Wolf, Chaz Rules), drummer Jordan Murphy (Walrus, Postdata), and bassist Mike Farrington Jr. (The Mellotones, The Big Bottle of Joy). The live band includes bassist Justin Swann.

Pierce emerged from the Halifax independent music scene in the 1990s and returns here with a new body of work. Jenny & the Tide is also set to release their second recording in April (2026).
