Roxy & The Underground Soul Sound proudly present a powerful tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, celebrating 20 years of her iconic album Back to Black. A bold, soul-baring masterpiece, Back to Black redefined modern soul with its raw honesty and vintage-inspired sound. Featuring unforgettable hits like Rehab, You Know I’m No Good, Tears Dry on Their Own, and the haunting title track, the album earned multiple Grammy Awards and cemented Amy’s place in music history. Deeply influential to Roxy & Co. since day one, these songs will be brought to life with passion, grit, and heart.

Join us at The Carleton as we celebrate the music, the legacy, and the enduring brilliance of Amy Winehouse on Friday, October 30th. Show starts at 8 PM, and tickets, while they last, are $35 +HST!

Roxy and the Underground Soul Sound are an award-winning six-piece soul-funk band hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia featuring Roxy Mercier on vocals, Andrew Jackson on trombone, James Shaw on saxophone, Pat Healy on guitar, Luke Arsenault on bass, and Brendan Melchin on drums.

Since forming in 2013, the band has been lighting up stages across Canada with their high-energy, feel-good performances. Fronted by Roxy’s unmistakable powerhouse vocals—backed by tight horn lines, deep grooves, and a heartfelt love for soul—their sound blends the golden era of Motown with the flair of ’90s R&B and the smoothness of modern neo-soul, all while staying rooted in classic soul traditions. They’ve performed from Nova Scotia to Ontario, appearing at major festivals including the Halifax Jazz Festival (NS), Harvest Music Festival (NB), Stan Rogers Folk Festival (NS), The Jubilee (NS), and Cloggeroo (PEI). Along the way, they’ve shared the stage with icons such as Chaka Khan, Fefe Dobson, The Arkells, Matthew Good, Steve Earle, Matt Minglewood, The Trews, and Joel Plaskett.

With every release, Roxy and the Underground Soul Sound continue to evolve—pushing their sound forward with honesty, groove, and heart. As the legendary Allen Toussaint once said of Roxy: “She means what she’s singing.”
