The Carleton announces the make-up date for Juno Award-winner Old Man Luedecke‘s June 6th cancelled show as Tuesday, July 5th. Tickets for the previously scheduled show will be honoured on the new date. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are $20 advanced or $25 at the door. As an added bonus, Australians The Mae Trio will open this show!
Chester-based Old Man Luedecke has just released a fabulous-as-usual, new album, Domestic Eccentric, produced by Tim O’Brien (their third collaboration) and as the title suggests, it’s mostly a record about home. It’s about what it means to be a still-youngish man; what’s it’s like to still be in love with the woman you started writing songs about and moved to the country with more than a decade ago; what it’s like to watch your babies grow into children and the j0ys and sorrows attendant upon the milestones of parenthood.
We’re very much looking forward to hearing OML bring these fabulous new songs to life live, as only he can do.
Award-winning Australians, The Mae Trio – Maggie Rigby (banjo, ukuleles, guitar, marimba and vocals), Elsie Rigby (violin, ukulele and vocals) and Anita Hillman (cello, bass and vocals) – started playing together in 2011, and the last year has seen the band burst onto international stages all over the globe. Their debut album Housewarming was produced by Luke Plumb of Shooglenifty and features percussionist extraordinaire James Mackintosh also of Shooglenifty fame.
It is a rare treat to experience such unique instrumentation and spine-tingling harmonies and The Mae Trio promises bucket-loads of both.
