Patio Popup!

It’s a start!  Great weather predicted tomorrow, outdoor dining is a thing again, and The Carleton has a fresh patio!

Join us starting 2 pm Wednesday June 2nd to celebrate Reopening Phase 1.

Please note that our patio popup is weather and mood dependent.  Keep an eye on socials to track our on again, off again existence 🙂

May 29th Saturday Kitchen Popup!

As we adhere to the provincial lock down, The Carleton team continues to work with artists and partners daily to reschedule (and unfortunately in some cases cancel) shows that were booked for the venue in May and into June.

One of our local and very talented artists effected by The Carleton’s closure is singer-songwriter Ian Janes, who just released his brand-new album and companion book, Episode 5.

Janes had three full band shows set for The Carleton in early June, two of which were sold out. These shows have been rescheduled for later in the summer (July 15, 16 & 17) but to not disappoint his fans, Ian decided to perform solo from his home studio this Saturday, May 29th at 8pm AT.

So, to join the festivities and celebrate with Ian and his fans, family and friends, The Carleton is offering a special 3-course ‘Popup Takeaway‘! A little bit local, a little bit southern fried, a whole lot of fun deliciousness!

Here’s how to be part of it!

Buy tickets to Ian’s show here: HERE

Place your dinner order for The Carleton at Home: HERE

*First 10 food orders receive a complimentary Carleton toque!

Pickup is between 4 – 7 p.m. this Saturday at The Carleton (1685 Argyle Street).  Let us know your preferred pickup time in the comments section of your order so we can be sure everything is HOT from the kitchen!

The Carleton CLOSED until June 2

[UPDATE 28-May-21] Oh happy day! Outdoor dining patios are permitted to open effective Wednesday June 2!

[UPDATE 19-May-21] Restrictions will stay in place until the second week in June. Show rescheduling continues!

Closing all Halifax restaurants to indoor dining effective tomorrow, Friday, April 23 is one of the many lockdown measures announced by Premier Rankin and Dr. Strang this afternoon.

This means cancellation of all Carleton events for likely the next month. We will begin work with artists and partners to determine whether and when we can reschedule, and will reach out to every ticketholder and reservation to confirm or offer refunds.

Stay safe, and please be patient while we work this through.

We’re Hiring!

Two of the most talented musicians in the country come together in a new format this year to bring us a one-of-a-kind show for the holiday season with favourite tunes and good laughs. We need this!

It’s not clear whether my alter-kitty is rockin’ out or crying to the heavens.  Perhaps a bit of both.

After the province announced on Friday that HRM hospitality would remain shut down until “at least” December 16, The Carleton team was left with significant questions:  What were the chances of being permitted to open on this new date?  Was it worth opening for only 4 days even with 4 sold out shows?  Would we be able to staff in order to provide our guests the excellent food, drink, and music experience they have come to expect?

The punchline is the risks are just too high.  So it’s official:  The Carleton will remain closed until the New Year, with a target re-open Friday January 8.
