“Dartmouth’s Songbird”, singer-songwriter Stewart Legere, and Halifax’s prince of genre-defying synth-pop, waants, return to The Carleton for a night of ecstatic music on Saturday, June 6th, to launch us into summer. Starting with intimate solo sets of their individual catalogues, and brand new music from upcoming releases, they’ll then join forces to introduce and share songs from their newest collaboration: Nightchrch. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are $25 + HST.
Nightchrch is a tectonic collision of styles, genres and perspectives, a melodic and emotional delta of lush, honest songwriting flowing alongside sublime arrangements and production. A brand-new manifestation of a longer collaboration between Legere and waants, Nightchrch is a gathering place (and time) for charming, hopeful, romantic party animals.
Stewart Legere swings gleefully from revelatory indie-folk love song to hypnotically mournful power ballad – his explosively vulnerable voice invariably seeks to skim the heart of the listener.
waants is a genre-agnostic electronic pop project from veteran Halifax songwriter and producer Adam Warren.
